When Sol and Christine Moghadam went to Ghana to adopt two boys and two girls, the couple was taken at gunpoint and put behind bars. They were accused of child trafficking, the couple recounted to CBS Friday in the video above.
The pair, from Irvine, Calif., had already adopted two boys, Ethan and Isaac, and were celebrating a Ghananian judge's approval of adopting Stephen, Derrick, Phillis and Illeana -- four siblings who were about to be put in an orphanage.
Moments before the Moghadams were going to go to lunch to celebrate, police arrested them and said they had forged the judge's approval. They had to watch as the children were ripped out of their arms and taken to an unknown place.
From within their packed jail cell, Christine posted their situation on Facebook and, on her blog, urged everyone to pray. Amazingly, within 24 hours, their story gained international attention, and U.S. authorities intervened.
The couple is now safe at home with their six children, who say they think their two-continent, Brady Bunch-like family is "crazy."
Even if that's the case, Christine told CBS, ?We?ve reminded them we would do it all over again ? you?re worth that much to us, to pay that cost, that?s nothing."
